Message In something like the Machinery's Handbook you can look up dimensions for applications of o-rings. Theoretically you could measure the ID and cross-section and determine the dimensions of the o-ring groove that it should fit in.
Realistically, o-rings don't like to stretch, and it's pretty obvious if they are installed incorrectly, if you know what you are looking at. I your installation Gordo, I imagine that it really didn't want to go in, and that's how you ended up with the injector on the left. Once you got the o-ring seated in the right place, I bet they went in real sexy-like.
